What is an accreditation?
An accreditation is a procedure by which a neutral third party formally recognizes that a conformity assessment body has the competence to conduct specific conformity assessment tasks.
What is certification of conformity?
In a certification of conformity procedure a neutral third party demonstrates that proper confidence exists in the fact that a properly denominated product or procedure is conform to a certain standard or an equivalent standard document.
Bodies offering these services are conformity assessment bodies and are designated as “certification bodies”.
What is a notification?
Notification means the authorisation of a conformity assessment body by a third party to realise determined conformity tasks.
