of our EMC laboratory
Accredited test laboratory for EMC (DAkkS accreditation)
Our accreditation by the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS) according to EN ISO/IEC 17025 confirms our competence to professionally realise EMC tests according to the most important national, European and international standards for components, devices and systems of the household, industry, vehicles, railway vehicles, radio, military sector and others. The accreditation is also valid for tests in the field of Human Exposure regarding the safety of persons in electromagnetic fields.

ECE regulations as well as EN and ISO standards
Our EMC laboratory is designated by the KBA (German Federal Motor Vehicle and Transport Authority) as Technical service category A and is entitled to perform EMC tests for EC type approvals (e1), ECE approvals (E1) and according to German national traffic regulations. The SLG test reports are submitted to the approval authority as basis for the issuing of the corresponding approval. Test foundations are the well-known EC Directives 97/24/EC, 72/245/EEC in the version 2009/19/EC and UNECE-R10.
Vehicles as well as electrical/ electronic subassemblies (ESA) within the scope of the Directives mentioned above are subject to approval, including the issue of an approval number by the approval authority (KBA Flensburg).
Retrofitting parts without a safety-related function are not subject to approval. They are covered by the EMC directive 2004/108/EC.
Recognition as notified body by the German Federal Network Agency (BNetzA)
SLG is recognized by the German Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) under the registration number BNetzA-bS-07/61-13 as notified body according to § 10 article 1 of the German Law on the Electromagnetic Compatibility of Appliances (EMVG) within the scope of Directive 2004/108/EC.
SLG is notified in the EU under reference number 0494.
In which cases can a notified body be consulted?
According to Annex III of the EMC directive 2004/108/EC, a manufacturer may present the technical documentation, which he has to hold at the disposal of the competent authorities as proof of the CE conformity of his products, to a notified body for assessment. The notified body reviews the technical documentation and assesses whether these documents demonstrate sufficiently that the EMC requirements are met.
If, e.g., for a certain product present harmonized standards could not be applied or tested in total (see Annex II of the EMC directive), the notified body assesses on the basis of these partial results, e.g. documented in a test report, and under consideration of further aspects whether the essential EMC requirements have been met and the product can be marked with the CE mark.
