Allocation of the FEZ to a combine and renaming into "Ingenierbüro Elektrogeräte" (IBE, engineering office for electric devices) This company with about 500 employees developed electric devices and production technologies and had a main department called "Testing centre" with about 80 employees.
The testing center's main tasks was to secure export of the developed devices into about 50 countries by approval tests according to the corresponding country standards, to test the reliability of the devices by means of long-term tests and to further improve the products using the results of fitness-for-use tests. Since the mid 1980ies, IBE has performed tests for Stiftung Warentest (as the only laboratory in the former Eastern bloc).
With the reunification of Germany, from the company was converted into a trust company with the name |
