Performance - environmental friendliness tests
A product's environmental friendliness is not only reflected in its pollutant content (e.g. heavy metals), a fact that possibly makes it a burden when disposed of. Plasticisers evaporate during load utilisation period, making it especially dangerous to children (mutagenic). PAH (polycrilic aromatic hydrocarbons) proceed to the human body by skin contact and can be carcinogenic.
Devices with a high noise and dust emission are also a big burden for humans and animals.
Resource scarcity and increasing energy costs have made the European Community Council introduce energy labelling in the 90ies in order to better expose energy-eating products and draw the consumers' conscience to energy-saving models. Unfortunately, high input powers make some consumers believe that some devices (e.g. vacuum cleaners or kitchen machines) have good performance features regarding their function. This must not necessarily be true, often a lot of energy is wasted or values are stated that are only reached in the short term under certain circumstances.
Our services:
In order to be able to evaluate the environmental friendliness, we offer you a comprehensive and single-sourcing solution
consisting of:
pollutant analyses (plasticizers, PAH, heavy metals, etc.) |
noise analyses and improvement/optimisation suggestions |
dust emission measurements (at household vacuum cleaner as well as dust-removing devices) |
energy consumption measurements (e.g. energy label) |
For the following product groups:
household appliances (minor and major appliances (so-called white goods, such as cooling/freezing devices, cookers, washing machines and tumble dryers) |
floor cleaning devices (floor vacuum cleaners, steam cleaners, wet vacuum cleaners, etc.) |
tools (electric and rechargeable devices, accessories such as bits for cordless screwdrivers, tools such as wrenches and taps) |
gardening devices (hedge trimmers, chaff cutters, garden syringes, etc.) |
lights (torch, desk light, etc.) |
illuminants (energy-saving lamps, bulbs, etc.) |
toys |
