Inspections within the context of quality assurance

Besides testing and certification, we support our customers with additional services for quality assurance both in Europe and at our Asian subsidiaries.

The following audits and inspections are third party audits (performed by SLG) on behalf of a second party (buyer) to inspect a first party (supplier). The inspection plan shall be agreed between the second party (buyer) and the third party (SLG). In case an inspection plan is not available, the third party (SLG) can provide a proposal.

Supplier Audits

Audit of a factory (supplier) to check whether that factory meets defined criteria in order to accept a factory as a supplier. The audit is normally (but not necessarily) performed before a factory achieves listing as a supplier by a buyer.

Factory Inspection (FI)

Product or portfolio specific inspection of a factory to check whether the established quality management procedures of that factory are appropriate to ensure a steady production.

In-line Inspection (ILI)

Product-specific random inspection of an intermediate batch size of manufactured products to check whether this batch meets the acceptance criteria of the inspection plan (based on ISO 2859-1). Influence on further production is possible.

Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI)

Product-specific random inspection of a final batch of manufactured products to check whether this batch meets the acceptance criteria of the inspection plan (based on ISO 2859-1).

Loading Inspection

Special inspection after performing a positive PSI to check that the inspected goods are correctly loaded for shipment.
